What is Pelvic Health Physiotherapy?
Pelvic health physiotherapy is a specialised area of practice that addresses the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions in women across all stages of life.
From adolescence through pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, and beyond, women commonly experience pelvic health concerns that can significantly impact their physical function, comfort, and quality of life. These conditions are often underreported and undertreated, yet many are highly responsive to physiotherapy intervention.

What to expect from your consultation

Getting to know you
We want to get to know you! We start with a comprehensive medical history and detailed discussion about your symptoms.
We ask a lot of questions - this is really important so that we can truly understand you and what's brought you to us.

Individualised assessment
We look at your body as a whole - your posture, your movement, your breathing, your hips, pelvis, back...
To fully assess the pelvic floor function, we may suggest an internal examination. This is our gold standard way of assessment, and is something your physiotherapist will discuss fully with you first.

Individualised treatment plan
Treatment plans may include:
- pelvic floor muscle training (beyond kegels!)
- manual therapy
- bladder & bowel retraining
- breathing and postural education
- strengthening & mobility
- lifestyle modifications
